Meet Dr. Jessica Wangerin
When Dr. Jess helps others, it pours energy back into her, so she’s sure this is the right career choice for her. So many people are surprised at how awesome chiropractic is. It’s fun to see when they realize they should have done this a long time ago!
A Journey to Health and More
Dr. Jess has firsthand experience with the healing power of chiropractic. Early in her college years, she began having tightness in her chest on the left side, and numbness and tingling down her left arm. She went to the ER a few times, believing she was having a heart attack, but the tests were all normal. For two years, Dr. Jess saw numerous doctors, tried multiple medications and procedures, and continued to be told her results were normal. Most thought she was making it all up.
After Dr. Jess resigned herself to never getting answers to her problem, a fellow waitress in her hometown of St. Louis overheard her describe her symptoms. A student at Logan College of Chiropractic, the waitress convinced Dr. Jess to get an adjustment. With nothing to lose, she agreed.
While on the table being adjusted for the first time, Dr. Jess felt a whoosh, like a rush of blood flow, energy, or something go down her arm. When she got up, she could breathe and move better. That started her looking into chiropractic as a career.
Dr. Jess graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then enrolled in Life Chiropractic College West, earning her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2017. She is also certified in the Webster Technique for pregnancy adjustments, and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She is currently pursuing a PROnatal Fitness Performance Training Specialist Certification to better empower women through the pregnancy journey and beyond through exercises specific for pregnancy, labor and parenthood preparation.

Realizing Her Potential
Before being adjusted, Dr. Jess was unaware of the power that the body has to heal as well as the necessity to take care of it. She knew very little about holistic health care, and her journey has led her to feeling healthier every year she gets older, instead of the opposite. She’s passionate about helping others find their way to health with natural, holistic care, from wherever they are in their journey.
Outside the Practice
Dr. Jess remains active in the Sonoma County Women’s Soccer League, both indoor and outdoor. She regularly hikes and backpacks with her husband, goes running, and spends time working on projects in their fixer-upper home. Gardening, cooking & all things nutrition are also passions of hers as she hopes to someday help everyone grow their own kitchen gardens, providing home-grown, self-sufficient food for all.
